Jean-Jacques Kravetz (born 30/5/1947, in Paris, France) started his career in early bands of Michel Polnareff during the 1960's. Somehow he ended up in Hamburg, and became a regular session musician working chiefly over the years with pop singer Peter Maffay.

To us Jean-Jacques Kravetz was best known as the keyboard maestro in Frumpy, where he proved to be an extraordinary talent. It's strange that after this he left to work in more commercial music with Udo Lindenberg. His "solo" album was in fact the Lindenberg band with Kravetz at the helm, for a more progressive outing. Although a patchy album, it had some excellent moments, notably some lengthy instrumental breaks and much Frumpy influence.

He also played with Atlantis, Randy Pie, and he's apparently still active nowadays, well into his 50's, playing with the likes of Udo Lindenberg's Panik Orchester, Steffi Stephan, and Peter Maffay, and his own trio of: Kravetz/Engelund/Carlton. Quite by accident, I also discovered that he's also recently published two instruction books that each come with a CD: "Perfect Blues Piano & Orgel" (KDM Verlag 20984-212) and "Perfect Rock Keyboards" (KDM Verlag 20984-222).
