MT: Hi. My name’s Mateo.
M: Are you Italian?
MT: No, I’m not. I’m Spanish, but my friend Gabriella is from Italy.
M: How old are you?
MT: I’m eleven and Gabriella is twelve.
M: Who are those children?
MT: That’s Peter.
M: Is he British?
MT: No, he’s American. And that’s Anna. She’s Chinese.
M: Anna? Is that a Chinese name?
MT: No, it isn’t. Anna’s dad is Chinese but her mum is Polish.

G: And that little dog?
B: That’s Darla’s dog. His name is Frisky. He’s got big brown eyes, short legs and short, black and white hair.

G: What time is it?
M: It’s half past five.
G: The match is on TV at quarter to six.
M: No, it isn’t. The film is at quarter to six. The match is at quarter to eight.
N: Five.
N: What does Ellen’s dad do in the evening?
B: Ellen, what do you and your family do in the evening?
E: Well, I sometimes watch TV.
B: What about your parents?
E: Well, Dad usually plays computer games with me, but Mum hates them. She reads her book.

G: What can my family do? Well, Mum can fix things. She fixes our car and our bikes! She can cook and she makes dinner every day. Dad can cook too. He makes breakfast for the family every weekend. But Dad is a very bad singer. He sings in the
shower and my brother always shouts: ‘Be quiet, Dad!’ Granny Sophie is Dad’s mum, but she can sing well.
She can play the piano too. Grandad Alex can’t sing or play the piano, but he can draw fantastic pictures. My brother Louis is sporty and he loves football. He plays football for the school and he watches all the football matches on TV on Sundays.

B: That’s Irek. He’s from Poland, but now he lives in the USA. He does a lot of exercise and he’s very healthy.
