WARNING!!
This is the last version who work without any problem in precise,
newer version doesn't work for a problem with gtk version...
SO.. don't upgrade more of this version...
If you have a newer version working or you know who have it, please coment me to know how is posible...

Sharing this two version of firefox 79 working in puppy precise 5.7.1, finally the problem about the audio
is gone!...
the first is a pet to be installed ffrom zero

WARNING!! both version are tested only in precise, I do not guarantee that it will work in other recent versions or maybe it
could cause a little problem ...
Important note: for this version of Firefox to work, glibc must be updated to a version greater than 2.17, luckily for us, this
update is in the Mike Walsh repositories and here I share it ==>

Update Glibc first and then install the pet or add the sfs and that's it ..

Do be aware that although I packed this glibc stuff into a tarball, and mirrored it, credit for the original very firmly lies with
battleshooter.
One of only a handful of lasses on the Puppy Forums, yet along with
Jemimah
an important contributor of
extremely useful software.
Originally assembled to enable Chrome in Saluki & Racy 5.5, it nearly got lost when
meownplanet
went tits-up a few years ago.
Ally & Russoodle between them rescued a lot of stuff before it disappeared for good, though the archives were a bit jumbled
up, being essentially left in whatever order they were grabbed in. I found this worked a treat, so I put all the relevant
individual files together, together with a short 'READ-ME' explaining the order they had to be installed in.
I'm glad others are still finding them useful...!

About Glibc I know that it is the work of another colleague, but at the time I did not remember who the compiler was ...

its packages I have tested Glibc 2.27 in precise Linux, hoping that it works without any problem, it is still in the testing stage,
at least for now it works ...

OK brief first post.
I have used the forum for a few years now as a guest.
I use precise 5.7.1 on a Dell P4 laptop as my everyday device,
Many thanks to all of the contributors who have helped keep my precise online.
Recently I have noticed that the banks are getting twitchy about Firefox 78esr also the latest seamonkey 25.3 and palemoon
29.2.1.
So i felt I was approaching a crisis point and would have to junk perfectly useable hardware.
As I always run puppy as a live cd I was able to do much research and testing without crashing an installed system.
So I have to report that I am posting this using Firefox 89.0.2 in a live session of precise 5.7.1.
See attached screenshot.
I have never had any luck with precise in playing online videos so I cannot comment on whether the audio works. The codecs
are too ancient.
I want to carry out a little more testing and I will post again showing how I set it all up.
