Casambi Configuration Tool
General information
With Casambi configuration tool it is
possible to create your own
fixture
configurations with your own icons,
names and settings.
With the standard configuration the
Casambi app will display the standard
icons and details, but after reconfiguring
Casambi units with our Utility app your
own
fixture
icons and details are shown.
In the two pictures you can see the
difference.
You can also make some changes to the
technical settings to make Casambi units
work better with your luminaires.
If you don’t have an account to Casambi
configuration tool you can request one
from support@casambi.com
After the account has been created
for you, you will receive an email
with login details.
Go to the page https://admin.casambi.com and log in with
your user name and password.
Please change your password when you
first
log in. Click
on Account settings on the bottom and ‘My account’ screen
will open.
In that screen you can also update your company name
and email address. The email address will not be shared
with anyone outside Casambi
On the top of the page you can
find
also the downloads
section. There you can
find
user guides, technical guides,
marketing materials and data sheets. We always have the
latest versions of our documents there.

Reconfiguration of Casambi units
1. Go to admin.casambi.com with your computer and create
fixture
configuration.
2. Use your iOS device to download Utility app and reconfigure Casambi units. The
iOS device needs to have reliable internet connection and bluetooth connection to
Casambi unit.
Requires iOS 8.2 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Unfortunately there is no support for Android devices at this point.
3. Use Casambi app to test the luminaire. The mobile device needs to have internet
connection to get the latest configuration from cloud server and bluetooth
connection to the Casambi unit
4. If needed change the configuration in admin.casambi.com and repeat steps 2 and 3

Creating a fixture configuration
To create your own
fixture
log in to admin.casambi.com, click on the Fixtures tab and
select new
fixture.
In the Appearance & Branding section you can add Vendor, Model and Icon for your
fixture.
Note that the picture should be square and it should not contain alpha channels.
All features marked with BETA, are available only for beta
firmware
and beta Casambi
app. Please see the Beta Testing document for more information.
You can also add notes for your team. These notes will not be shown anywhere else.
For example you can write if the
fixture
type is already in production or still in
development.
You should also consider locking any
fixture
ID that is in production.
In the Technical configuration section it is possible to lock a
fixture.
This way it is not
possible to change the technical configuration settings by accident. We recommend to
lock all
fixture
IDs that are already in production.
We do not recommend changing the
technical configuration after units have been shipped to customers. Changing
configuration might result in a non-working unit.
In technical configuration section,
first
select the
hardware type you are using. This selection will open
other relevant configuration
fields.

this document. Please see Casambi configuration tool
CBM-001 if you need to create a module
configuration.
