In this lesson, we will teach you a quicker way to create your 
hot opportunity list.

1. Your Hot Opportunity List 
In the last lessons, we’ve gone over the two-step system of creating your hot 
opportunity list:

This method combines those steps. We recommend trying both methods, as 
everyone’s preference is different.  
 
NOTE: Just because they were viable products when we created these lessons, 
they might not be any longer. Always do your research!   
 
If you have a specific passion or expertise, zero in on that niche. However, don’t 
put blinders on for other products. The goal of this course is for you to find a 
viable product, launch it, and start making sales.
Even if you’re not passionate 
about your product in the beginning, you will be once you start making 
sales!

2. Speeding Up the Search Process 
Take the following steps to speed up your search process:

6. Click the icon with four squares, at the top right of the page, in order to 
see more results per page (this doesn’t apply for all searches, but if it’s 
there, click on it).  
7. Click the Jungle Scout icon on the top right corner of the webpage.  
8. At the bottom of the page, click the “Extract Next Page” button to reach 
Amazon’s second page of results. We recommend that you get the 
several pages of results.  
9. In this example, the product we’re using is “Skull Cakelet Pan.”   
10. Click on the link to open the product on a new tab. 
11. Highlight the keywords “Skull Cakelet Pan” and paste them in the search 
bar. Make sure you are searching in all departments. 
12. There are 117 results, but there isn’t one that is similar, so take this off the 
list of viable products. 
a. This is the advantage of this method—you immediately see that 
this product isn’t viable, instead of adding it to your list, then 
doubling back when searching for competing products.  
13. A successful product example is the “Dual Probe Meat Thermometer,” 
which is found on the original Jungle Scout search. 
14. Open the product page in Amazon, and search the keywords “Digital 
Dual Probe Thermometer” with all Departments. 
15. Click ‘Jungle Scout’ and ‘Extract Next Page’ to get our list.  
16. Sort the list by “Rank.”  
17. Delete any products that aren’t similar.  
18. Check the ranks and reviews. Both are within the correct parameters, so 
add the primary product and the two competing products to your list.

3. Having a Niche 
If you are interested in a specific category, use the same search option of 
“-​fkdivndqe”,
but within that certain department.  
 
For example, if you want to a product in sports, you can specify the “Sports & 
Outdoors” department in your search. Please be aware that this will limit your 
product opportunities, and you may miss a great product.  
 
If you do go down this road and use subcategories, Jungle Scout will include 
the BSR for the top level category, which is what you want.  
4. What’s Next 
In the next lesson, you will pick your best three hot opportunities to take into 
Module 2.

Use this method (or the previous method) to add products to your hot 
opportunity list. You need a
minimum​
of 10 products, but 10-15 will give you
