The Hatton Garden Heist by Philip Palmer was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 26th November 2016. Story: Factual Drama: Over Easter 2015, a group of ageing crooks successfully broke into the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit in central London and stole an estimated £200 million worth of jewels and cash, one of (if not the) biggest robberies in British history. They gained access by drilling through a 2 foot thick concrete wall and then forcing through an inner steel lining; why the vault did not have movement sensors inside like a bank vault is unclear?
