Sorry your having a problem If you are using vista or windows 7/8 have you seen and used the extra instruction file for vista 7/8 users? Comms errors can occur and are usually very simple things stopping the program from seeing the printer. First, ensure the printer is the default printer in your windows system, and that it is the only USB device plugged into the PC make sure its switched on and USB connected. no Wireless/Network/Ethernet connection. Next check that there are no print jobs queued to this printer, delete anything that is in the print queue spool. Next, under some conditions the internet connection causes errors so you should disable your internet connection while using the reset software. Next open the files and right click the mouse on the coloured circle icon(the program icon) select in the list that comes up run as administrator. the program should then start. without administrator rights the program cant be used. even though your computer account is administrator the program in some windows still needs to be told to run as administrator. If that does not help then it may be a program on your PC stopping comms, like a firewall doing its job, so if you have followed the instructions and turned off the antivirus / Security and firewalls its probably not them . so it is most likly a program that has been installed after the printer was installed, if you know whats been installed since then great , turn them off if they are running, if you cant do that then the easiest way is to completely uninstall your printer from your system and then reinstall. now try the disc again and see if the error has gone. let me know how you get on or any other problems let me know as I am here to help
