REPAIR HINTS FOR “HANGING UP AT RECEIVING A PHONE CALL”

Information concerning the improved HALL detector added

If the customer complaint concerns “Hanging up at receiving a phone call”
symptom the reason for that could be too sensitive HALL detector (N2401).
Note: only few HALL detectors (code 4605953) have been too sensitive.
On the top of the HALL detector there is a running week-code. The week
code consists of two letters. E.g. “CB” is 05/01, “EC” stands for 06/01 and so
on.
Hall detectors with week code marking “DO” and later are improved
components and those should be used for repairs.
Repair action:
1. Hanging up at receiving a phone call issues when the fold is open
-
Make a call against GSM tester keeping the fold open using low
channels of the GSM900 at full power
2. If a phone call hangs up and LCD goes blank for a short while like when
closing and right after that opening the fold
-
Change the HALL sensor N2401 (code 4605953) to a new one
(use
a component with week code “DO” or later)
and test it against GSM
tester according to the step 1.
3. If step 1 does not cause “Call hangs up and LCD goes blank for a short
while” start normal troubleshooting related to this kind of issues.
